Shipping Note: Due to USPS restrictions, orders with 3 or more Li-ion battery packs in a box must be sent by Ground Advantage surface transport. Note: The UV7D can be RESET by a keypad Menu option. Doing so will return the radio to a default configuration and will delete all of the pre-programmed SHTF channels. Please save a backup your radio codeplug (programming file) using the free Wouxun factory software and the “red” Wouxun USB cable (sold separately) or the RT Systems Advanced Programming Software & USB Cable Kit (sold separately) in case you ever unintentionally RESET the radio. Description
The Wouxun KG-UV7D is a 199 channel programmable dual-band handheld analog superheterodyne FM LMR or Ham two-way radio transceiver with wide increased 5-7 Watts of power, dual-watch, and advanced features, ideal for LMR, public safety, security, industry, business, amateur radio, SHTF preppers, survivalists or EmComm emergency communications. A traditional backlit LCD display offers good visibility outdoors in the sunlight. It has 2.5 kHz tuning steps for narrowband compliance and comes custom pre-programmed for LMR Business Use plus some SHTF* frequencies (ships with VFO & Menu locked per FCC for Part 90 LMR compliance). Amateur Radio/HAM configuration available. Programmable with free (downloadable) or advanced software kit.
With up to 7 Watts of VHF power (5 W on 50 MHz & 220 MHz) and 5 W of UHF power (custom 2 W on low power for VHF/UHF LMR use, only from BSR), an extended UHF receive range (375-512 MHz for LMR & 2m/70cm HAM configurations, only from BSR), a talk-around range of 1 to 6+ miles (many more when used with repeaters), and with an extended-capacity 2600 mAh Li-ion battery pack (only from BSR, a $5 free upgrade! – 1700 mAh for 2 m/70 cm HAM version), the KG-UV7D provides reliable commercial or emergency radio communications for amateurs, preppers, survivalists, Neighborhood Watch, ARES, RACES & CERT groups to keep in touch when other methods of communication break down. 199 Channels & Increased Power Levels
Easily program up to 199 regular VHF/UHF channel memories with 6-character alpha-numeric tags, and 18 FM Broadcast Radio station channels (217 channels total). 2 programmable power levels for operating flexibility with custom power calibration only available from BSR (VHF: 7/2 W, UHF: 5/2 W – 7 W/ 1 W, 5 W/1 W for 2 m/70 cm HAM version). Great option for on the go comms:
Great option for on the go comms in the outdoors. The screen type on this radio was the biggest selling point for me. The simple LCD is easy to see in full sun light. No need to shade the screen or strain your eyes to see what band you’re transmitting on. Very nice for those with old or failing eyes (like mine).
