The High-Power Wouxun KG-UV9P U.S. version provides reliable dual-band EmComm emergency radio communications for amateurs/hams, SHTF preppers, survivalists, Neighborhood Watch, ARES, RACES & CERT groups to keep in touch when other methods of communication break down. This BSR 9P version offers more power (up to 10 W) with custom power calibration, includes an extended-capacity 3200 mAh Li-ion battery, and has a different front grill than the older KG-UV9DPlus, but is otherwise functionally identical, with dual high-quality dual-conversion superheterodyne receivers.

Note: The UV9P works fine with the RT Systems Advanced Programming Software (or the free factory software), and the 9P will accept any program from the 9D(Plus) if you're looking to simply upgrade your power and operating time. The slimmer 2000 mAh battery pack from the UV9DPlus is also compatible with the 9P.
